International Standard for Forest Therapy
We are delighted to share that the first edition of the International Standard for Forest Therapy has now been officially completed and published. This milestone would not have been possible without the invaluable support of so many of you. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who generously contributed their time, insights, and expertise.
Help Shape the Future: Join Our Committees
Your commitment was especially evident during the Second International Forest Therapy Conference (ICFT), where rich discussions before, during, and after the event infused the standard with wisdom and depth. These collective contributions played a vital role in shaping the final version, and I am deeply grateful for your dedication.
Following the ICFT conference on August 12, we have also received 56 constructive comments from across the globe. Each of these contributions has been carefully reviewed and integrated into this edition. We sincerely thank all who shared their thoughtful input, and We would like to express particular appreciation to :
- ANFT (Amos Clifford),
- Harvard University (Susan Abookire),
- FTHub (Alex Gesse),
- University of Missouri (Ruth Williamson),
- North American Institute for Nature and Human Health (Zhong Xie),
- Forest and Go (Sara Nardini),
- Fundación El Bosque y La Niebla (Natalia Laverd),
- EcoWisdom Forest Preserve (Kari Krogh)
To guide its implementation, we invite you to join the newly established International Council of Forest Therapy (ICFT)– a non-profit governance body committed to advancing forest therapy with integrity, quality, and global recognition.
ICFT’s vision is a healthier, more connected world where forest therapy is globally recognized as a pathway to human well-being, ecological resilience, and cultural integrity. Our mission is to foster ethical, sustainable growth of forest therapy through research, education, collaboration, and professional standards.
