Meet Your Instructors:

Ronna Schneberger / Lead Guide & Instructor
Ronna Schneberger is an award winning naturalist, interpreter, and hiking guide with over 30 years of experience in the Canadian Mountain Parks. In 2016 she became one of the first certified forest bathing guides and trainers in Canada, embracing the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku to promote wellness through nature immersion. She currently serves as the Chair of Nature and Forest Therapy of Canada, advocating for the integration of nature-based therapies into mainstream health and leadership practices.

Dr. Guangyu Wang / Instructor & Scientific Advisor
Associate Dean and Professor at UBC Faculty of Forestry & Environmental Stewardship, Dr. Wang is a leading researcher in forest therapy and nature-based health. As Director of UBC MINT, he leads pioneering research on how forest soundscapes, lightscapes, and viewscapes enhance well-being, with over $4 million in projects completed. His work bridges science and practice, with global collaborations across Canada, China, Korea, and beyond.

MINT Research Team
Backed by UBC Faculty of Forestry & Environmental Stewardship, the interdisciplinary MINT team advances evidence-based forest therapy science through research in forest medicine, health monitoring, big data, and rehabilitation science, as well as global projects on forest soundscapes, lightscapes, and biophilic design. Their work connects lab-based evidence with community wellness practices, and MINT’s proprietary systems and labs translate scientific findings into practical wellness solutions—findings that inform this one-day workshop, bringing the latest peer-reviewed research in nature and human health to the event.
